1440x900 in bf2?

Iv tried changing the video con file AND in the shortcut properties but when i try to run bf2, it just crashes back to the desktop, can someone help me please, im sure i can play in 1440x900 cant i?

I've played it in 1440x900 and it works fine, albiet with the HUD stretched to the max.

Go to this site and find the Battlefield 2 page, the shortcut/command-line option there works.

Works for me too, try to load up the game at least once before you enable the shortcut.

It isn't in there because it's being forced via command line so it overrides whats in the options, use the menu option on your monitor and it will tell you you're running at 1440x900. Also it won't look like crap when you play.

dont fiddle with the video settings once youve added the extra part to the command line mate as itll reset it all

Definetly a refresh rate thing if it goes straight back to the desktop.
Had this problem with bf2, had to change the desktop refresh plus the video config file and put them both on 60hz.

Must say just adding the command line to force 1680*1050 worked 1st time for me, without editing the config file.

well i have done that, but when i go to video options (without changing anything) it doesnt say its set at 1440x900, says its at 1280x960

Yeah it will, but the resolution is still right so long as you don't click on anything in there.
