Good afternoon

I am considering replacing my old 1080p 60hz 24" BenQ monitor and making the step up to 1440p with a 27" at 144hz. Is the step up to 1440p worth it, or is 1080p still best to stick with? The most demanding game I play is RDR2, although most of my gaming time is in sims. Willing to reach £300, but would prefer to be around the £250 mark.
Any advice thankfully received.

You're probably best sticking with 1080p unless you plan to upgrade the GPU as well since a 2060 will struggle at 1440p so you would really want at minimum a 3060ti or 3060 when those release next month.

The 2060 is a buget stop gap. My old gpu failed and I needed a replacement quickly, so got it s/h from ebay. Was looking towards a 3070 eventually, once the market calms down.

If you turn some settings down the 2060 will be fine to be honest, I'd just hold out until you can get a 3060ti or better.

It's not worth hopping between interim cards given the current second hand market.

Cheers for that, I did think that maybe an expensive route to take. I will look into the monitor and then await the arrival of the 3070's at rrp.
