So I'm on my way to make a huge upgrade and have been waiting for Nvidia to do something (like a lot of other people) and had decided to buy the MX34VQ which is 1440p, curved, ultrawide, VA, 100hz and needed a graphics card to cope with this and/or my current 4k 60hz TV. Now the only reason I'm writing this is because very recently Samsung have announced a new monitor (CJG5) for a 31st August release and it is also a curved, 1440p, VA, however it has 144hz but isn't ultrawide and a speculative pricing is £350 vs £650 for the MX34VQ.

Now from personal experience with either 144hz or ultrawide, and or this combined with 1440p; what is your opinion on which you think is better considering I would be using just a single monitor. I love the idea of ultrawide and have been set on getting that to begin with, however for nearly half price, with much higher refresh AND still curved at 1800R, I'm now no longer sure what would be better for gaming.

Thank you in advance for any input, whether it is first hand or just your thoughts; also please do not ask about my current setup, just presume whichever display I pick will be matched with adequate hardware.

I don't see why you'd need curved on 16:9 personally, I'd also not want to go back to 16:9 after moving to 21:9. The only exception would be for competitive FPS games where you'd benefit from the quicker response times and higher refresh rates.
