Hey.
I’ve tried everything now to run my monitor at a higher refresh rate, uninstalling drivers and reinstalling.
Have the actual Samsung monitor driver installed.
In advanced properties and everywhere else I only ever see 59Hz or 60Hz available. This is the same in Nvidia Control Panel.
Other than Reformat & re-install Windows 10 does anyone else have a suggestion to get it running at higher refresh rate please?
The monitor menu shows 2560x1440 60Hz but if I drop to 1080 res. I can change to 100hz

Monitor, connected via quality DP cable is Samsung CHG70 27” (model LC27HG70QQUXEN, firmware m-HG727CCAA-1025.0). Have tried factory reset, and disabling freesync option.

GPU = Gigabyte Aorus 1080Ti, latest game ready drivers.

Hi Andy,

HAve you enabled 144hz in the monitors OSD menus? Only then when you have enabled the monitor @ 144hz you will see Nvidia control panel and windows. PAge 30 of the manual.

You wont need to reinstall windows.

After turning off Freesync I did see I was able to set refresh rate manually from the monitor, though 144Hz was the option left set.
I then saw 144Hz was in the option available in Windows but Applying this seemed to be accepted but not actually change refresh as far as monitor or was detecting. That option then disappeared as a restart.
I then changed my DP cable for the ‘cheap’ one supplied with the monitor.
That did the trick !

So it was just the rubbish cable that was holding it back. Thanks as was about to reformat for no reason.

Glad you got it sorted, may as well turn Freesync back on and see if you can apply G-sync in Nvidia control panel. Some freesync monitors will work with Nvidia cards. Ten use the Pendulum demo from Nvidia to see if G-sync option is available = works.

Yes, G-SYNC option is there on the demo. I also see jitter with V-Sync on, tearing with V-Sync off, and nice and smooth with G-SYNC enabled.
Happy it's working now. Thanks again.
