144hz or Feesync or G-Sync

You do want 27 inch and you DO need G-Sync. You just don't realize it yet.
Modern high end LCDs scale resolution fantastically. You can get a 1440P panel and play some games in 1080P if necessary and it'll look great.

Get a Dell SD2416. 24 inch, G sync 1440P. I think 27 is better though.

I don't want to spend £450...

I was/am in the same situation as you my friend. for months I have toiled.

If you're not too bothered by 1080p-ness and a slight lack of yellow green colour I heartily recommend the Philips 272g5dyeb

You should find it in OCUK for around £279.99

Its one of the best TN panel Ive tried with g-sync. It is TN though, and if youre used to IPS it will be noticibly more dull. But its much better colour and contrast than the Benq zowie series which doesnt even have g-sync and command a similar price.

Its 1080p however, but with a 1060 you won't be pushing a 1440p 144hz monitor beyond 60fps or even 45fps. I would estimate at 1440p a 1060 you get you 60-80 on very well optimized games, 60 in optimized games, 45 for not optimized console ports/state of the art AAA.

G-sync is a premium of 25%. Whether thats worth it is up to you, some say its not, some say it is. I'm somewhere in the middle.

I don't want 27inch.
Don't need G-Sync.

Want 144hz & ideally IPS - what are my options?

As far as i am aware - this product doesnt exist.
<27inch, 144hz, IPS monitor doesnt exist IIRC.

If you want 144hz, IPS, you're gonna have to go with a premium panel which comes with Gsync, 1440p and 27inch

The Asus VG248QE doesnt look too bad, IIRC it was one of the best at the time, not really up to date with these caliber of monitors atm though so there may be other alternatives out there

144Hz and IPS would point you at either the Acer or Asus Freesync screens, but the Asus is expensive and the Acer support is questionable.

24" + IPS + 144Hz is not possible - yet.
