Is it a noticable difference ? An old Reddit post said

  • 144 Hz = 6.94 ms/frame

  • 165 Hz = 6.06 ms/frame
So i'm assuming the human eye wouldn't be able to tell the difference ?

Well into the territory where only a very small number of people will actually be able to tell the difference / benefit from it. Maybe if you play like counter-strike exclusively for like 8 hours or more every day. For general gaming you probably won't notice the difference.

Thing with monitors and refresh rate - there is more to it than just the refresh rate itself (you often need a higher refresh rate to compensate for other sources of latency and/or to reduce the ceiling of variances which can result in much higher latency periodically) and for most people it tends to peak around 85-90Hz or so and beyond that is increasingly diminishing returns territory.

Difference between 60 and 144Hz:

140%

From 60 to 165Hz:

175%

Even though 144 to 165 is only 14.5% increase.

It depends on what you're upgrading from and what your budget is imho.

When is OVERCLOCKERS getting Acer Predator XB273U GX 27" 270hz or Acer Predator xb32u gx 32" 270hz monitor????

I'm sure upgrading from 60hz or even 144hz these will be noticeable in games that you can push this fast anyways

Acer supply is pretty patchy at the moment so I don't know.

We've got 360Hz Asus Monitors.

Linus did a good video with pro gamers on this subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX31kZbAXsA

That is a great video!
