I mainly use my pc for gaming but it's casual, I'm not competitive.

I've narrowed my monitor choice down to 3 (I think)

The Acer 27" has an AHVA with a resolution of 2560x1440 @ 60Hz and 6ms
The Asus 27" has a TN panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 @ 144Hz and 2ms
The LG 29" super wide has an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560x1080 @ 60Hz and 5ms

I'm struggling to work out which one to go for. Can anyone tell me anything that'll help me decide?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Acer K272HUL 27" Widescreen LED Gaming Slim Bezel Flicker FREE Monitor - Black £319.99
1 x Asus VG278HE 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £289.99
1 x LG Flatron 29UB65-P 29" WideScreen Super-Wide LED Monitor £269.99
Total : £904.09 (includes shipping : £20.10).

As above, especially fast paced shooters, racing games, basically anything where the camera pans quickly or you're travelling quickly. On top of that a GSYNC monitor will make it look even smoother.

i'd vote for a decent TN Film panel if your primary usage is gaming. If you want the best gaming screen currently available then the previously mentioned Asus ROG Swift PG278Q is very good. it would also offer you additional gaming benefits not to be under-estimated - 2560 x 1440 res, G-sync support (if you're an NVIDIA user), blur reduction backlight (again if NVIDIA), 144Hz refresh rate....

Also the BenQ XL2720Z is an excellent gaming screen including many advanced gaming features and extras including a native blur reduction mode. one of the best 1920 x 1080 gaming screens around at the moment

I had a Benq gaming monitor for 3 years @ 120hz and was massively concerned about going back down to 60hz. The fact of the matter is I couldn’t tell the difference when I did, had them both side by side ready to return the 60hz, no need.
