14th Gen "Raptor Lake Refresh"

Agreed!......Btw it'll be interesting to see if both AMD and Intel with regards to 13th Gen do a price cut. I guess time will tell. I wonder how temps will go with 14th gen, I'm one of the few that hate AIO coolers.
I noticed a 'special' yesterday where the 13700k was £320. It's ended today however. But I think 14th gen will cause AMD to drop their prices, particularly the i7 equivalent and lower. Same of course for Intel 13th gen.

Yeah I can't stand the pump noise from an AIO for when I'm working, or watching media. For my gaming rig I don't mind an AIO, since I'm always in-game on it, with headphones, where I don't notice the noise.

I think it'll be the used 12th, 13th gen that are the really good deals. We'll probably see 13900k's going for £250-350 there abouts, which will be incredible deals.

Only annoying thing for me upgrading to 14th gen is updating the bios. I'm gonna lose all my settings for memory overclock and all the little tweaks i've made so i need to make a screenshot of everything before i do so then reapply it all and hope it holds!

Hopefully Z890/AM6 boards from ASUS will have the ability to save UEFI profile to disk, then just load from that post update. Gigabyte offer this already I believe.

Note book, glass of your favourite beverage and jot the settings down.

Gigabyte, at least on the boards I have used, prevented BIOS settings being imported from one BIOS revision to another. So that would typically mean me making a load of screenshots, initially saved to a USB stick, copious notes and a lot of faith when I finally updated.

Of course due to the myriad of menus and submenus I would rarely find the same damn pages to make some of the settings, made worse recently when Gigabyte has just made a fundamental change to how their UI now looks within the BIOS.
In some ways that has typically meant that I'm less "elaborate" in what I now bother to change, lol.

Updated my BIOS recently and I've got memory timings tuned to death. Took <5 mins to dial everything back in.

Not ideal in this day and age to have to manually input everything again but it's not that big a task.

I punted on this. 30 day no quibble return, so i'm going to see how the market plays out on 14-series launch week.

Currently going through just that, Bought 2 new kits of DDR5 6400mhz cl32, XMP will not work at all, only manually adjusting, but I have no clue what I'm doing. looked a bunch of stuff up online, currently have it stable at 5000mhz. I do only have 12900k, but I'm planning on going 14th gen, (hence the bios update). I've seen people get it a lot higher than what I have so I'm sure until the cpu upgrade it can be dialed in more

Export to a text file and highlight the ones you’ve changed?
Note book, glass of your favourite beverage and jot the settings down.
Such a hassle

Smart phone -> take a few pics. Sorted. No risk of making mistakes whilst jotting numbers lol

the 14600k looks disappointing, was going to go for that but specs are not much different than the 13600k, A bit faster but not much else different ;(

The only chip that if the leaks are true has more added to it is the 14700k, all the others is a bump in mhz

One good thing is it should drop the price of the 13 gen cpus. Can't grumble with my time with a 13600k.
