CPU E6400 @ 3.0ghz (1500)
Ram 8500 @ 800mhz (800)

Am i alright running at that ratio?

I can get 1:1 but im having trouble getting it stable.

What specs re you running?

The myth about "only running 1:1" has never really been backed up in my opinion. I always use the ratio that gives me the best compromise between fastest memory possible and stability.

Core 2s love bandwidth. Therefore, the faster you can run your RAM the better. 1:1 is only really important on A64 systems AFAIK.

That statement is true, but it should carry a rider. Don't go for a faster ram speed at the expense of cpu speed. Cpu speed is THE most important thing, if you can get high ram speeds as well, then that's a bonus.

Nope A64's it didn't matter as you never could run 1:1 i.e. it ALWAYS ran as a divider of theCPU clock speed.

It was P4's 1:1 was useful

:)

Im pretty sure u can get a little more outta that CPU, what r your BIOS settings? voltages, mem timings etc this board does suffer from FSB holes aswell.

Wats your LDT set to in the BIOS?

I have to disagree with 1:1 not being a good option.

I get far better read/writes with my memory on a 1:1 with my c2d (CPU 400FSB - memory 400Mhz) than I do with the memory at 500Mhz.

I cannot get the E6320 @ 500FSB. Would be nice but not a cat in hells chance on air :(

Edit: I am talkin out of my ass actually. I just booted to 2.8Ghz/400FSB with the Memory at 1000Mhz and got a slightly better read/write.

As soon as I upped the E6320 to 3.2Ghz I saw a MASSIVE drop in read speeds but a good increase in write speeds

Oh for the OP, I too have a P5N-E SLI Mobo :)
