Hello all, my relatively new black s4 has been keyed on the passenger side across front door, rear door and rear quite deeply so that at some points metal is showing. finger nail definitely feels it.

It was done parked outside a residential road and don't know who did it so no point going there. Got a crime reference number and wondering whether to go through insurance. atleast 3 panels so properly done would at a guess be over 1k - 2k?

Some friends have suggested chip away but not sure if they can help for keying across 3 panels length wise?

Feeling super aggroed but what can I do.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

It'll be your anti corrosion warranty, probably something like 12 years. If any rust is spotted, they will decline any claim because of the repair here, citing that the repair was not of a suitable standard.

Where is the satisfaction in damaging a car this way.
Want their fingers removing.

Some people are just so green with envy they can't stand to see other people with new cars.

I personally couldn't afford a 15 plate audi but I would never consider doing this to someones car :(

as we have found out on here the car does not need to be a new expensive one, it happens to older cars that are worth nothing too.

clueless idiots the lot of them.

Definitely go through insurance and find an Audi-approved repair shop.
If it's independently resprayed, you can kiss your anti-corrosion and paint warranties goodbye.

Going through insurance means you probably get a replacement car and you can keep rejecting it until it's perfect (if need be).

getting a quote from Fastlane which is approved audi repairer to see what they can do first.

My excess is 350 and protected no claims but if i claim - any idea how much my premium will go up next year? anyone had experience?

proper ****ed - not exactly made of money just because i saved up for a nicer car... i would post pics but don't have anywhere to post them..

Don't take this the wrong way but how on earth did you end up in a 2015 model Audi S4 and not have £1500 to chuck at the car by surprise? I wouldn't want to throw £1500 at my car by surprise but if it came to it I would and write it off as **** happens. I'm surprised you don't have the funds to do this and write it off as life..no offence.

Car was paid in cash - no lease or finance etc.

Also - fast lane is bodywork by Audi lookers - thats who they use.

The point is not about have or have not 1500 to chuck at it - is to either go or not go through insurance?

If the right thing is to pay 1500 to fix it -then thats fine but obviously i do wonder why we pay insurance? Obviously if going through insurance is better - than i will do that.

Sry, not had my cars keyed before - so not sure which route to go.

No need to apologise, he is just being a... I'm surprised he didn't pointlessly specify the car he owns to showboat as usual.

For this amount of damage I would go through the insurer and make sure that it goes to a dealer paint shop for the repair, as mentioned above. I don't think this is within the realms of Chipsaway or companies like that, and if it is, the quality of repair might not be bad, but I'd say it would be noticeable if you looked for it. Not something I'd want on a very new S4. :)
