15" laptop for £500ish

As per the title whats going to be the best laptop for that sort of money. It won't be used for games and doesn't need a full HD resolution.

Anything better than this in this price region?

There are many laptops to choose from in that category. Personally, I don't see the need for a i5 over a i3 in a laptop that will be used for home, browsing, and the occasional video.

I don't know really, You'll have to look at Toshibas, Samsungs, even HPs and Dells. It will then come down to overall build quality (chassis, screen, keyboard, trackpad, heat management).
