I hear one of the 15" Mackbook Pros have 30% more pixels on it's screen. Is it the model with the HD 6750M that has it or will I have to ask in my MCC store about it?

You can spec a high-res display, but I doubt an APR (like MCC) would carry the high res models pre-built.

I'm not 100% but I think Apple stores carry some of the high-res ones in stock, or they did when I was there... I think. I know we stocked matte ones.

I'm hoping the MK store have these in stock so I can check them out in person. I like the idea of the high res screen, but after a while working on my normal 15", I'm not sure it would actually prove more productive for me.

Considering the resolution on the new Airs I was hoping the Pros would be higher by standard - what's the resolution on the upgraded 15"?

You'd have thought so... A colleague of mine just got a new 15" and to my eyes the display on my 11" MBA is better

When the high-res one was announced I went straight to the Apple Store and put a 1680×1050 one on the left alongside an identical 15″ one but with the 1440×900 screen on the right.
At the time I owned a previous gen 15″ one so with the 1440×900 screen (funny how all my mates 15" laptops had 1280x800 screens though :p), so to start with the 1680×1050 looked stunning and the 1440×900 looked normal - just like mine but in a newer design case.

After a few minutes of using the 1680×1050 one I turned to the 1440x900 one and it's just hideous in comparison! The 1680×1050 is awesome!

Well your MacBook probably cost 2-3 times the amount of their laptops. (or more)

So not that surprising really is it? :p

I'm happy with 1280x800 (MB 2010), it's not a desktop replacement so it never becomes an issue. It's not great for editing high-res images on Photoshop though. (I don't do that often on it, just for web work when out & about)

I'll probably be in the minority for this, but I took the standard res screen. It's nice being able to fit more stuff on the hi res, but because it's smaller I feel I'm more productive after a long day on the lower res.

I'll be picking up an acd to pair with it when I need super screen space :)
