Hi all,

my 8800's have served me well but on has recently died and the other is starting to get a little loud and struggle.

Obviously, it doesn't play the latest games either which is a pita.

So, £150ish, what is on offer?

Photo editing, video editing and gaming usage :)

Thanks

It won't be £150. Not even close. The RRP is $249. Convert, then add VAT. End price is more like £200.

Thanks for the suggestions, hopefully i'll be picking one up next week :) 280/280x

What is the rest of your system ?
Seeing as you were using 8800's it might be relevant.

i7-3770@ 3.40GHz
8GB ram
Win 7 64

Couldn't afford a gfx card at the time and I still need a replacement sound card, but on board is fine at the moment so might not bother.

Well the rest of the system is fine so any of the above suggestions would be a nice upgrade.

Only issue is power, its a modular system and has 2 6 pin, but gfx says it needs 6+8 pin. Going to have to see if I can remember make/model and if I have the right cables lying around.

edit: looks like its a Jeantech Artic 600w and does have 2 x 6 pin + 1 x 8pin so I should be able to run 1 new card IF i can find the cable :S

Well done on lasting so long on 8800s. ;)

Yeah, it's done well so far and I don't get to game as much as I used to so hasn't been much of an issue.

Purchased 280 today, fitted (just) but i think the next upgrade is a new case because it barely fit in the current one, and for some reason, my 8pin power cable is different than the GFX card needs (wrong shaped pins in the wrong positions)

Trying to get Wolfenstein to work now, driver issues I think then I can test it later :)
