£150 budget for Used GPU what could I get ?
what should i Aim for ?

I've not played decent PC games in about 4 years, so with a new build I would like to start again.

I also watch movies, I sometimes do a little graphics and video editing, converting, rest of the everyday stuff.

Any suggestions are welcome

For £150 you could get a GTX 970 - It'll still max out pretty much anything you throw at it at 1080p if you've got a reasonable processor.

Little more will get your a used 1060 which will be slightly better.

Thanks for the reply.
I have a 1700x (Taking ages to build)

So which would be better 970 or the 1060 also which 1060 3gb or 6gb ?

also how do the AMD GPUs compare ?

6GB 1060 would be the best bet if you can get one.

Will probably be around £180ish used.

I'm not too clued up on AMD but Nvidia are generally better bang for the buck and use less power.

Thanks, Any brand I should aim for I mean some have better warranty, support or card spec ?

970 for about 130
Thanks

Thanks but I'm getting the sorry not available message.

I'm not sure on the other brands but EVGA warranty is transferable so if you got one of those you'd still be covered. EVGA tend to be more expensive though.

For £180 odd there are a few 1060's 6GB No competitors please

Transferable if you purchased before May 2018, you need the original receipt if purchased after this date. Snide move by them imho.

If I could find one I could afford an 8gb 480 or 6gb 1060 would be my first choice, After that an AMD 390 or 390x

Given the price you can pick em up, a 970 is a great card for 1080p still. Runs anything.

Struggling to justify an upgrade for mine tbh!

Dont listen to the others saying buy GTX970. Is a trash card for that price range and a cripple having only 3.5GB Vram at full speed and less ROPs than advertised.

Look for R9 390X or 290X (non reference). They are going on the same price range and are 20%+ faster.
Even better I can see used RX 580s going at your price range right now and look for GTX 980 Ti bargains. I can see a couple going for less than £200 atm.

Otherwise RX 570. They are very cheap and yet still faster than the GTX970

I wouldn't call a 970 trash. It'll play anything maxed out still at 1080....I've not yet had to turn anything down on mine paired with an ancient 2500K @ 4.8GHz so dunno what you're on about there.

Regarding the 390X, it'll use an awful lot more power, run hotter, for essentially a few FPS more and you probably won't get one for £150, quick scan on ebay see's them going for around £200.....

RX 570 is still faster than the GTX970 and someone can get one for as low at £98. And is not few FPS when we are at the range or 20+ FPS difference in some VRAM demanding games.

And especially when the GTX980 is on the same price range, the GTX970 is true trash.
Plenty of them (980s) on £150 buy now.
