My friend is running a Q6600, 6gb ram and an ati 4000HD atm. Now I told him the processor with a little bit of overclocking can be pushed fairly far, from what i've read around these forums.

So would it be more sensible to get :

for £115, then buy a decent heatsink for the rest of the budget to OC the processor, or to just leave it stock and buy a £150 graphics card?

Thanks :)

Yeah I'd do that, indeed. Decent card in it's price range. The Q6600 is a good OC'er but you will need decent cooling to get there. :)

Definitly go for the Overclock with a good heatsink and that GPU will be great. I believe you may well be able to hit near enough to 3Ghz OC. You may even have enough left to buy a Happy Meal with.

Edit: Actually, I'm reading about some extraordinary overclocking potential with that CPU. :D
