Sadly i have had to reduce my budget for a new monitor as i spending cash on a new bike:D

Question i have is which monitor 22" for around £150 is the best.

Will be used for normal computer stuff, web-use ect, but also gaming.

I have seen in currys the following:

Samsung SyncMaster B2230H

Also
Samsung S22A350H 22" Widescreen LED Monitor

Both look good, but is there a clear winner? or is there monitor i should also consideR?

It does not have to be 22" but given that monitors get worse quality as you get higher res unless you spend more to compensate i think 22" the best given my budget.

graphic card is 4870 if anyone cares ;)

but again, feedback welcome, but would like to know if the Samsung S22A350H 22 is a good choice as this is the current top of my list(be it noob techno one)

This isn't entirely accurate. It is true to an extent between say a 24" and 40" running at the same resolution but between a 22" and 24" it just isn't the same. 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 resolutions were in fact first introduced on 24" panels.

If you are dead set on a 22" then fair enough but you should be properly informed before deciding. As to that Samsung monitor in particular, it doesn't look great as there is no DVI connection on it. Has your 4870 got hdmi? The only serious review I could see (on tomshardware) says to not bother with it and to buy a bigger screen :)

thanks for the comments i didnt relise 24" have same quality as 22" as im probably remembering ye olde times when bigger monitors= worse performance for same money.

Question, i have just seen this Asus for a week only special

Given the price reduced its very tempting. question is is it actually worth the extra £30 over buying a BenQ EW2420 24"???
(some reviews say Benq suffers from ghosting ect sadly and colour isnt that great)
**edit**
Atm reading more and more reviews the BenQ doesnt actually seem that great to be honest, so considering the Asus even if i dont use 3D it seems the best 23" for £200 i can get.....

thanks anyway though be good to get other peoples comments

im looking to get some other views on these monitors as after reading some reviews online it bloody confusing trying to work out which one.

Asus 23" Treu 120(even though i wont use 3D it still ment to be very good)
BenQ EW2420 24 (some people rave about it, lots of reviews say it isnt good and ghosts tons)

so which one? or is there yet more monitors i have failed to look into for £150-£200 max...

help....need to make mind up within 24 hours....

just ordered the Asus 23" 120hz from OcUK :)

Was proper tempted by the LG offering that gets similar reviews (and is cheaper), even more favourable in some cases... couldn't find it available anywhere though lol.

I'm happy with Asus though, I've used their monitors in the past and they are usually responsive and bright (what you want for gaming).

Have my Eizo for my vid work :) Looking forward to testing it out on Monday with BF3 hopefully.

I been on a monitor specific forum and have been told that my best bet is the

Asus ML239H 23" Widescreen LED Monitor

As the 120hz is very good but would be a waste given i wouldnt use the 3D so no real need for it myself.

Also been told to look into the Dell U2312HM as it also ment to be very good, anyone got?
