What are the choices, both Ati and Nvidia, at this budget? I find all the model numbers confusing and it will be replacing an 8800 GT that has served me well but died on me this morning. Thanks.

It's a couple of years old with a Core 2 duo cpu and Corsair 520 watt psu. I know the rest needs upgrading but at the moment it's more important that I get it up and running. I'm a casul gamer so hopefully £150 will be enough to get me by. Going to work in a minute so don't think I'm ignoring any replies. ;)

I recently picked up a KFA2 GeForce GTX 560 EX OC 1GB (the one with dual fans) it's £150 with next day delivery plus you get a free code for the new batman game to redeem via steam and I couldn't be happier with it, the card feels really solid in your hands and performance has been great for me so far.
I haven't got battlefield 3 or anything major to test it with at the minute but cod 4 promod is maxed at 250fps only dropping a few fps if things get seriously hectic.
In this review they test it with arma 2 and battlefield bc2 plus a few other games and it gets 560ti performance in some of them! http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2011/06/24/kfa-geforce-gtx-560-ex-oc/1
Temps wise I haven't seen it go above 50*c and where my pc is there's really bad airflow so that's damn good.
It's pretty quiet and comes with a 2 year warranty.
Oh and if you want to connect via vga or hdmi then you don't even have to buy another cable as it includes a vga to dvi adapter and a hdmi to mini hdmi adapter in the box. :)
