Hi,

Current rig in signature. Not been in the market for a while (hence the HD5770). Any recommendations?

Thanks

If you have access to the members market, I'd consider going 2nd hand. A 390X just went for £155ish, better than a 460 too.

If I was in your position I would probably wait and save an extra £50 and then look out for a good deal around the £200 mark on an rx480 or 1060. Black Friday is coming so no doubt we will see good ~£200 deals on these cards.

470 is pointless at £175 when deals for the 480 and 1060 come up for not much more and anything less than a 470 isn't that great for gaming really.

As said above save that extra £50, the difference between the 470 and everything below is night and day. If you get a lesser card you will be kicking yourself later. There will some one that says 'yeah but an extra £50 on top of that £50 will get you an even better card like the 1060' and that's true. Set your self a strict budget and get the best card you can, 470 and above, anything lower is pointless

I saw some brand new 970's on hotukdeals the other day for about £170 and there's always the popular online auction site too

See what difference GTX1050 series make @ 2PM today. Might panic AMD into dropping a few £ off their cards & the GTX 1050 might also launch @ lower pricing to hurt AMD.

Either way the consumer is going to benefit as the sort of market the GTX1050 is aimed at is extreme volume-casual gamers or people with a strict budget so they will shift millions of units in the next few months!
