£1500-£1800 gaming pc

Ordered it last night, though I added an optical drive not realising the case doesn't have a space for one, oops  I'm guessing I will have to download the OS onto USB? If so is that just from the Microsoft website? What about games too? Will this mean everything will have to be bought through steam? Thanks again for all the help.

Or just have the optical drive hanging out of the side of the case on a SATA and power cable, install the OS from disk and then disconnect and chuck it in a cupboard never to be used again.

You can also copy+paste the files from the disk onto a USB drive and boot from that.

Rufus is an utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc.

It can be especially useful for cases where:

you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.)
you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed
you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS
you want to run a low-level utility

Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need!

Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO. It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USB from ISOs. (1)

If you have the .iso Windows file you can use this to put it to USB for future fresh install use.

You could always cut a hole in the front with a dremel ? :D

Anyway i would just do what Stulid suggested and connect it with the side panel off.

Will go with what you said then stulid, I'd only realised from watching a tutorial build with the same case (looks quite daunting, specially with all the fans)

Thanks again guys

Ok, sorry to drag this thread back up but all my components arrived today apart from the cpu obviously. I've been watching numerous tutorials and it feels more doable, but can't figure out the fan placement (fans all over the place haha.) Any advice on this would be great. Also will I have to buy and use thermal paste for the h105 cpu cooler? Thanks again!

If you look at the face of the H105 you will see a silver disk, thats paste.

As for fans, are you not just replacing what is in the case already and swapping the standard H105 fans for the SP120?

Ah ok, just I seen someone applying paste on one of the tutorials using the h105 so wasn't sure. Yeah the 2 sp120s are for the h105, I then have 3 af120s, 1 for the exhaust at the back I'm guessing and just put the other 2 in any of the 4 slots left available keeping the standard fan? I actually had to order 2 af120 dual packs so could replace all fans if thats possible? thanks

The paste applied in the tutorial was probably just upgraded paste, the cooler will come with some preapplied which you can remove and apply your own if you wish

The preapplied one should do the job for now :)
