I would like my next system build to be 4K, currently at 1440P, for me it's all running a bit poorly. Time to make some changes.
The budget above is for the rig only, the monitor can be bought on top of the budget separately, the only trouble is I cannot find any 144HZ 4K monitors, are there any out yet ? I remember reading articles about 9 to 12 months ago about 144HZ options, I may be forced to stick with the 1440P 144HZ for the forseeable future if 60HZ is the only option at the moment.
I still want to upgrade regardless. Not overly impressed with my current system performance at 1440P. Running games at exceedingly high fps or playing brand new games at 60 ish fps is important to me. On the current system I'm seeing my fair share of dips at 1440P, 30-40 fps bad or stutters below 60, forcing me to spend lots of free time tweaking settings to get decent performance at the cost of graphic visuals. Last upgrade to the current system will be 2 years in January 2017, definitely needs some new life breathing into it.
Current spec
GTX 980 G1 GPU
Overclockers Overclocked bundle at the 4 below
Intel Core I7 4790K @ 4.6GHz CPU
Gigabyte Z97X-SOC Force Motherboard
16GB Dual Channel DDR3 2133MHZ RAM
Asetek 570XL 240MM Cooler
EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W Power-Supply
NZXT H440 Midi-Tower Case
Asus Rog Swift PG278Q 1440P 144HZ Gsync monitor
2TB HDD
1TB HDD
250GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD
500GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD
Razer BlackWidow Chroma Keyboard
Razer Deathadder Mouse
Windows 10 Operating System
What I would like next would be 4K + DDR4 CPU/MOBO, maybe 32GB of RAM + Higher VRAM GPU card, something better than the 980 for higher resolutions. The 1080 or 1080TI (not yet released are much better than the current spec card, DDR3 vs DDR4. Is the 6 or even 7 series yet to be released much better than what I currently have? Cost of replacements is no issue for me, I need some direction on the best options. The rest would be optional I guess . Storages, peripherals, Power-Supply seem fine.
If I have posted this in the wrong section could a moderator kindly move it elsewhere, cheers.
