So looking at doing a full upgrade from my 2500k + sli’ed 570 gtx’s. Was thinking about an FX-8 Eight Core 9590 at first and an 780gtx but was looking and but it’s not much more for the 6 core Intel 4930 build and down grading a bit to a 770. I know the 4930’s don’t overclock that well but getting it to 4-4.2 will be fine and should be more powerful than per core/clock for clock/overall than the 2500k @ 4.8 and the 9590 @ 5.0??????
I mostly play Eve and that needs CPU, GFX memory and cpu cores for each client (I run 6 eve’s a lot of the time) so having a core for each of the clients will help a lot. I run 3 screens so having the 2x GFX cards for the most point has been pointless as I cannot use SLI 99% of the time and I am normally maxing out one card while the other is hardly ticking over so was thinking of one good card so when I am only running games on one screen I am still getting full potential from the system.
I don’t know if what I have picked is the best choice and I don’t know if the memory I pick out was the correct one?
The Seagate is for the OS I have over drives for everything else. Not so keen on SSD’s as I don’t normally play games were loading times matter and the SSD I have been using for the past few years I am shore has been giveing me some of the problems I have been having with the computer BSOD’ing at random times (1-2 times per week) and random start up issues so just going to go back to standard drives. I can always swap back to an ssd at some other point if needs be.

Yes, but I would change the case & PSU.

Case is personal preference, but the you can do better with the PSU. Superflower/Seasonic/BeQuiet & Antec would be a better choice over the Corsair.

Agree with snips about the PSU :)
Worked out I need 650-700 min so was just looking at the 850 or so, added a Seasonic to the list
Case is personal preference
I already have a 600T and I don’t mind it. + It easy fits the Silver Arrow. I was looking at things like the 650D and stuff but did not like the whole normal cold square metal box. Yes the fan controller stopped working after 2 weeks on the other one but even after 2.5 years it still looks good.
£320 on a 770?
I have just been looking at the GTX 770 Phantom’s which are a bit less. And will bring the noise down a notch or two.

£290 for a 770 is slightly better than £320, I suppose, but still - the step up to a 780 or a 290 is not very big. Spend a bit less on the case and you're sorted. You won't need an 850w PSU, particularly if you intend to keep it at a single card.

I would really recommend getting the SSD for your OS.

A tweak or 2... still not convinced over a cheap SSD but evey one raves about haveing them... (i cannot tell the diff between my home comp with one and my work comp without tbh) still think i would Rather have slower loading times but more reliability/Space/i don't like my current corsair force 3 and think its been giving me problems (i don't know that it is the SSD but i cannot think what else gives BSOD then crashes the comp then does not show in bios till you hard power down then back and re set it as the default in bios). adding an even cheaper version of something i am not 100% about seems a bit daft????

I think you'll find the reliability of SSDs is now better than mech drives. Getting a good one, like the Sammy, you'll get a noticeable difference with OS performance & games loading.

Do you need 32GB RAM? Could you not get 16gb and a better graphics card? A 780/290x would be better!

Yes every one has said the new ssd's are better than they were + every one has said the corsair ssd i have is crap hence me not liking them..

I all ready have an 780gtx on the list.

I would never have a Corsair Hydro H105 or anything like them. Air cooling or a proper Walter setup only. (out of budget) I had an H105 before and it died after 3 days, never again it nearly totaled a brand new build. I have a Silver Arrow on my current comp and i love it so going to stick with them.

People keep telling me asus boards are not as good? i have pretty much always had asus boards so i picked one out this time too....

I am sticking with the corsair 600 case as i have a Foam Silencing Kit from last time that never got fitted as it was on back order when i got the bits and by the time it came was like a week later and not had the comp in bits since to fit it so can fit it to the new one.

It seems the budget is blossoming

I still think you could make savings though.

1 - RAM - do you really need 32gb? 16gb is enough in most situations.
2 - Case - While the 600T is really nice, it's expensive. There are better/more suitable cases out there which will save you ££. Carbide540, 750D, C70, BitFenix Shinobo, Ronin, Thermaltake, Silverstone. The 540 would be a first choice for me - clean with no visible PSU & most cables behind the mobo tray.
Cooler - to keep your colour scheme, there is an alternative cooler

With the K2, you could replace the fans later onto to match the theme.

Keeping your build requirements in mind, this would be my recommendation:

Gigabyte motherboards are top of the range, you'll be fine with this one
Changed cooler to match the colour scheme
To keep it within/close to your budget, 16gb RAM.

What happened to your budget? You've gone off the rails here!!

FYI, there are 3 top air coolers, K2 Doom, PH-TC14PE and the Silverarrow. Id personally fo with the K2, every bit as good as the silverarrow, if nit marginally better. Cheaper too!

I've noticed you keep speccing 600T, what's your attachment to it?

£1500 was a starting price but that started as an 8 core AMD build. yes i am £400 up but its for better things like SSD's and better CPU's mobos and GFX card upgrades and stuff. i will only think back in a few months and be like dam why did i get the 770 and an SSD that's too small/no ssd at all for the sake of a few ££ .. yes i am on a budget but its normally flexible. like when i got my SVS PB13-Ultra sub last year with a £1500 budget and walked out with a £2000 sub and now 1 year on i am super glad i did not cheep out then.

I keep speccing the 600t because i have one and i love it and as it's the only thing i ever see 99% of the time i might as well have something that i like. (I know it inside out, yer i know that's a a bad pun ;) )

There's no reason you cannot colour coordinate, making it look tidy. Looking at £2k?

Cooler - K2 is one of the best (3 in total) and the TY-147 is to replace the stock fans, it does a better job over the stock fans. It will also fit over the RAM modules.
If you're looking at £2k, why not got SLi :D
