Obvs I'm well out the loop nowadays so its over to you nice folks

he has £1500 budget.
He wants to play Arma 3
Needs monitor, keyboard, mouse, mousemat and headset (trackir optional)
Windows is not needed

Couldn't you get a i5 instead of 7 and get a better graphics card?

Not really needed for arma just needs a balling card

What's wrong with a 1070? It's faster than a 980ti and cheaper.

It's plenty of power for either of those monitor resolutions.

True I guess doubt arma will push a 1070 to hard at these res but I still believe a i7 is not needed.

I get 50fps at 4K on ultra with my 980ti well I did last time I played it. So 1070 will smash 1080p or 1440p

also is 550W enough?

A decent 550W PSU is more than enough for any single GPU setup, even with overclocking. 650W, if you want a bit more of a power surplus.
