Hey guys,

I'm looking at building a new PC in May/June (obviously a lot can change till then I know).

But was just after a spec as I've been out of the game for at least 2/3 years now so want to start getting up to speed with things :)

Have around £1500 (give or take a few hundred, want best bang for buck obviously) for a PC and monitor.

Also is there any new technologies coming out that'll change things massively between now and summer?

Sorry meant to include more info but forgot :(

Main priority will be gaming, but want to record and edit said gaming to put onto a YouTube channel, so some video editing yes.

I'm not into LEDs and stuff these days so just a nice sleek black case :)

Also another thing would love this to be as quiet as possible, so don't mind spending money on good quality cooling :)

Epic stuff so far guys!

Would upping the budget to 2k make a huge difference performance wise, or would you say its a waste of money?

Would love dual 27"monitors :D (Even thought i currently live in Australia and have NO idea where ill find space in my parents house for them when I get back :p)

That case is very nice, you're unleashing the inner 15 year old in me :p

Also, don't need an OS :)

If anyone could spec me a Red/Black colour scheme with that case + fans and cables for 2k, I would forever be in their debt :p SLI and another monitor maybe?

What happened to wanting a plain black case ? :D

I saw that NZXT haha! :p

Awesome guys, might try push the budget out a bit!

Wont be buying this till May time, just wanted to put the feelers out to start getting back into the loop :) Is there any major tech coming out between now and then which would change the spec?

And ill come to you Ethermaster when its time then eh? :p

ASUS have a 27", 1440p, 144hz, G-Sync monitor that should be with us by May - the perfect storm of monitor features. You'll need an Nvidia card to make use of G-Sync.

Any news on price yet?

And from reading Nvidia cards run cooler and quieter than AMD, which is something I think is important :)

Would a set up with 2 of those monitors and 2 Nvidia cards come in at under 2k?

But then I imagine it would ruin the red/black colour scheme?

I seem to remember Gibbo hinting at £550-600 for the price. Not cheap, so two of them? No. But then I don't see the point of getting two gaming monitors anyway. One or three - otherwise you'll just be staring at the bezel all day.

Lee's build above with two MSI 780 Gamings minus the monitors and unnecessary fans comes in at around £1500. And the colour scheme is maintained.

Hmmm so much choice, are 780's the nvidia card to get for this budget at the moment?

This has been great to get me up to date guys! Ill be reading over the next month and will come back once I have a final budget :)

Really would like a multi monitor set up, opinions on 1x27" vs 3x24"?

So maxing out the 2k budget with 3x24 or spending 1500ish with 1 27" with the view to grow to 3?
