Evening all,

Looking at a complete gaming rig for around ~£1500, obviously as fast as possible and also pushing high resolution (1920x1080).

Built one or two systems in the past but been out of the loop for a while.

I have put together this complete bundle, and really just wanted a check over for compatibility and also any general comments on the components ^^

Many thanks.

Looking good, not sure if the SSD is worth it and perhaps look at the DO stepping I7.

If SSD is a must the OCZ Vertex and the new Sammys seem to be getting the best press at the mo. I would get the Be Quiet PSU and the Noctua cooler quoted above too

Thanks for the CPU comment, switched that out, as regards to CPU cooler... well I mainly picked the Asus Triton due to its looks (yeah yeah I know!), would a Thermalright Ultra-120 perform a lot better?

Also same deal with the PSU , I like the look of the one I selected, but if the other is a lot better performance wise...

And also with the RAM, what would be the difference between DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) which you recommended and the DDR3 PC3-1600 (2000MHz) I selected? Is there a performance difference?

I'm not too sure about the SSD either, but thought that it would be nice to have it for my the OS and games, and the other for storage. The other option would be 2 drives in Raid 0 (not set up raid before), would they perform as good as an SSD? Or is Raid and the SSD just not worth the extra cost over just a single drive as per normal...

Sorry for all the questions and thanks a lot :)

Okay, taking on board what has been said so far, here is where we are at :)

Obviously will have to wait for the SSD to come in to stock, anyone know when that could be?

You might want to send a webnote asking when they are due :)
Just a quick note the motherboard only supports crossfire.

Done, thanks :)

Does anyone have comments on the choice of RAM, and if it is worth the extra for 2000mhz instead of 1600mhz? I am not that clued up on ram timings etc.

AFAIK the speed bump in the RAM is negligible in real world performance. Personally i would get the cheaper RAM recommended above
