The reason I went nForce + ATI is I'm not worried about SLi. I'd rather have the additional PCI slots and upgrade a single card later. The motherboard is hence much cheaper than a SLi board and I hear that mixing ATI and nForce with a single card has no degradation in speed.

On the Raptor, a single Raptor performs almost as well as a slower spin RAID pair (?) but with a Raptor and a second large HDD for storage as I specced, gives me upgrade to RAID another Raptor later for the best possible combination.

Just my reasoning anyhoo
