Hi guys,

needs a nice 22/24 inch monitor, big Hard drive, 4 gigs of ram. I will be overclocking. Will be gaming and using 3dsmax and photoshop on her.

ditch the motherboard and go for the future compatible :

Asus P5KC Combo Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard £88.11 inc VAT

and

i would have thought the ocuk oem ddr2 pc8500 would have been a better buy memory wise :)

graphics wise a GT is good but for a £1500 quid pc i would be looking for a GTX :)

otherwise the graphics would be the bottle neck in that system :)

Why not get the GEIL 6400 RAM? Stunning price for it. Also, the PSU is a bit overkill, it's a cracking item but the cheaper Corsair HX 520W will be fine. Not keen on that case either, I'd spend a bit more (money saved of the RAM and PSU) and get something like the Eclipse. The Antec Nunehundred is a dust magnet. Agree about the motherboard, but I'd look at a X38 board over a P35 for the future. Costs a little more though.

have a look at the p182 case, and as mentioned the corsair psu 520 or 620w.

for £1500 i would go for an 8800gtx, maybe look at 4x1gb.

go for the oem q6600 and get a tuniq 120 cooler for it.

I'm with you on the graphics card Dragoo... even for a nice budget like that, anything but a 8800gt doesn't make a lot of sense. Unless you want to wait for the new GTS of course. Maybe you could swap the 750gig WD hard drive for a couple of 500GB samsung spinpoints?

Do you need the extra features of Vista Ultimate? You could save a bit of money there, maybe put it towards a nice cpu cooler. Also, a 520w power supply would probably be enough.

The case is always down to personal choice but I just think the 900 looks a bit tacky, and for another £10 you could get the p182 which looks amazing.

Thanks for the reply guys here's my new spec,

Changed quite a few things, dont know much about cpu coolers if you could recommend a nice one that would be great. Swapped the gt 8800 for the GTX, I thought the 8800 gt would be better value at the moment and maybe upgrade when nvidia releases there next range of cards.
Also I plan to keep a lot on my hard drive would it be better to get another smaller faster hard drive as well to save my games and OS on?

Keep the 8800GT, ESPECIALLY if you plan on upgrading to the new series, it just does -not- make sense to spend an extra £100 on a card that's about 10% faster. May aswell save the money, just think that extra £100 will be going towards the new 9800s.

It's a no brainer to me.

at the mention of upgrading to the next nvidia, as Andelusion says go for a 512mb GT.

keep the hard drive you first mentioned the WD's AAKS are very nice drives.

swap the cpu cooler for a tuniq 120.

2 x 250gb sata drivesin raid will be faster than one 750gb if you are look for speed. even get 3 250gb drives for anout 100 quid and do raid 1+0 so you get speed + protection :)

good idea if you are doing a lot of gaming but still want the space.

i am not so sure about this GT card, a friend of mine just bought the same spec as me but but bought the GT instead of the GTX and is having consideraby ower FPS in crysis sp demo.

That could be down to loads of other things such as incorrect drivers, and anything else to do with his own system. You only have to glance through some of the 8800GT threads to see that this card is a stonker for the money.
