1500 or 2000rpm cpu fan

lol...true but with bios fan control I thought it might not make difference in terms of noise.

I would take the 2000 since there is a way to control its rpm to below 1500 or less for less noise, for the 1500 you can't make it spin to 2000 without modding or something.

The above is true, but bare in mind you can't always get a faster fan down to as low RPM as a slower one. Starting voltages and minimum PWM speeds apply, so it's not just as simple as fan controlling a faster fan. You still need to work out what your main priority is.

To get a 120mm to be truly silent they often need to be down to ~600RPM, and the question is would the 2000RPM fan get/start that low? Many won't. That said, if you aren't that bothered about silent computing then the 2000RPM might be fine for you.

I always go for the lower speed fan as it will be more quiet at its lowest speed. Most of my fans are in the range 1300-1500 and they are loud enough.
