Hello, hopefully someone can help me out here.

I'm horrible at picking parts, been reading these forums up and down and this is what I came up with:

Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5
PCI-Express 2.0,"VAPOR-X", 2xDVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort, Full-Retail

Fractal Design Newton R2 800W PSU
ATX 12V V2.3, 80 Plus, Modular, 4x 6+2pin PCIe, 12x SATA, 135mm Fan

Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-930
Quad Core, 2.8Ghz, Socket 1366, 8MB, 130W, Boxed w/fan

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R, X58
Socket-1366, DDR3, ATX, USB3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16

Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower Sort

Crucial DDR3 BallistiX 1600MHz 6GB CL8
Kit w/3x 2GB BallistiX modules, CL8-8-8-24, 1.65V, for Core i7

Sony NEC Optiarc DVD±RW burner AD-7240S
DVDRW 24x, DL, RAM, SATA, Bulk, Black

Western Digital Caviar® Black™ 500GB
, Sata 3 Gb/s, 32MB Cache, 7200RPM

Microsoft Windows 7 Pro EN
OEM, 64bit

The computer will mainly be used for playing WoW (and yes I know most say any pc can play it, but I'm sick of playing with horrible fps and low graphics on pcs that got stats way above recommended).
-Will these parts work together?
-Should I choose another version of win 7? (or should I drop it and stick to winxp?)
-Will 800w be enough? (Will it be enough if I add another gfx card later?)
-I'm a bit confused by 1366 and 1156 socket, will this be fine for upgrading later or should i choose something with 1156 socket?
-Memory? there is 358756546 brands and types and weird numbers, I think my brain shut down somewhere around graphic cards:mad: Will this one work fine? I'm not in the UK at the moment so I'm a bit limited when it comes to brands.
-Do I need more cooling/cables/things?
-Anything else I should think about?

As you probably understood I'm a real noob at this so all help are greatly appreciated :)

Hi and welcome
those parts should work together fine, to answer your questions
Id look at win7 home premium, its enough for most peoples needs and the fact youre asking means it should be fine for you
800W is plenty and will still handle a 2nd gfx card later yes
you can go for either 1366 or 1156, both are very good and both are likely to offer good future upgrade routes
the memory is fine
If you want to OC or have your system run quieter and/or cooler it may be worth investing in an aftermarket cpu cooler
enjoy

Get a psu from a decent company.

Corsair
Antec
Enermax
Seasonic

All proven manufacturers with a good pedigree.

Thanks for replying :)

PSU options for me would then be (no other of the mentioned brands available)
corsair 850w (not modular)
corsair 750w (modular)

about same price as the 800w I had in my first post.
Also added Win7 home premium and saved some money there :D

Sadly I can't seem to find an Antec PSU (above 350w )here in Norway. Would the 750w corsair do the job (or maybe even 650w?) with one gfx card? Could always get an Antec psu and another gfx card when I go back to UK later this year.

Leaning towards modular as my cables always look like a mess when it's all in and working.
