Hi @ All,

I posted in the "Spec me" thread but decided to start one on its own to get your opinions. (mostly because im not very patient and need a PC badly as mine has gone poof - sorry)

I'm looking for a good gaming PC. I currently play WoW & AoC but i want a system that will basically play any current game on top settings nicely.

Formatuk very kindly specced something in the other thread and i have played around with it and finished up on below.

Where have i spent to much and where have i spent not enough? I went for 750 PSU as i hope to put a SSD and another graphics card in the future when i have more cash. Is the RAM ok or should i have gone for something else?

Thanks guys. Order sent, due tomorrow so I got the weekend to set it up.

This will be my first self build, anyone got any links for guides etc? (Couldn't find anything on forum)

Just use Google and Youtube. If you get stuck, then post a question up on here.

Make sure you post pics though, step by step please. :D

Ok so it's all came this morning, and ive just finished putting together - although not successfully. :( (as i said, first ever build so just followed a couple of google guides).

When i switch on, the fans come on, but i get red light on the v8 cpu fan, graphics card and the power button for the Mobo. I also get no beeps.

I know its rather vague but anyone have suggestion where to start? Ive checked everythings pluged in proper but that doesnt mean i havent made some major noob mistake in the first place.

Suggestions?

(btw ive taken tons of pics which ill post once its up and running)

Try a CMOS reset, sometimes works, ensure all power connectors are installed including GPU power and the 8 pin power for CPU.
Another thing to try is each memory module individualy.

From the looks of a couple of them pictures, it would seem that you haven't connected the 4/8 pin CPU power connector. The lead comes from the PSU and you can either use the 4 pin or 8 pin connector which then needs to be connected where the red dots are located shown on the picture below:

Having a search around, it would seem the red lights are part of the design instead of indicating a problem. So, I believe you are all set to go.

Well done for building your first system. You have a very nice computer there.

@ Fire Wizard. Thankyou mate. Very much appreciate your time.

@siumat. Yep got a SAM-SSD64M Samsung 64GB 2.5" SATA-II MLC Solid State Hard Drive. Second one on orderfor raid 0.

ah ha apologies just had a quick skim and didnt see any mention but nice build shame image shack isnt being friendly to me the images are so slow to load!!!

Sweet build mate. Nice to see you put some pictures up.

Oh and Fire Wizard, good spot there. I don't think I would have noticed the 4 pin connecter on the mobo if I was taking a look at them.
