1500hrs on projector lamp, time to replace?

My HW40ES is at 1500 hrs on original bulb, it has started flickering at 1300 hrs and did it last night for couple mins.

Sometimes I think output is dim and other times it looks fine.

Now this PJ was always rated at 2000hrs, the 45ES came in and made it 6000 hrs to 50% brightness.

I'm likely to get an OEM bulb in compatible housing, the 'vivid' lamp from etailer purple-cat looks good, 2 year warranty.

I've noticed some dark to medium scenes the grey or dark areas are completely smashed together with almost no contrast. I suspect this is due to total light output being significantly less than when new.

Hopefully not SXRD panel degredation!?
 
tbh the rated and what they get differs greatly so yeah sounds like time to get a new one before it pops... that way you're not without it. I've actually ordered a spare for my Sony just incase it goes, I can literally switch over. It'll be the bulb mate, wouldn't worry about the SXRD stuff myself...
 
Bulb came today, was expecting it tomorrow!

Installed and working great with a nice bump in brightness.
