Planning to get a new PC mainly for gaming/everyday use and would really appreciate some build suggestions.

I will probably need a new monitor to get full advantage of the new rig, my current one is BenQ XL2411Z.

Will get windows key online.
Also won't need SATA as I have an old 1tb SAMSUNG HD103SJ and I don't need more than 1tb unless there is actually a good reason to get a new one.

The budget is around £1500 including the monitor, although I could go a bit higher if it's a matter of getting 3070 vs something older.
Many thanks.

There are many options to bring the price down like going for a 3600 cpu instead of the 5600x or drop the ram to 16gb . Unfortunatly a lot of options are not in stock.

Cheers for the build. I made some changes to instead include things that are in stock (except the 3070). In particular different CPU, motherboard, power supply and ram (down to 16gb). Do they seem compatible and reasonable to you?

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,260.01 (includes shipping: £13.20)

My list does not include a monitor - I would actually prefer a non-curved ones. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the 27" Dell IPS here.

would definitely pay the extra and go for the 5600x

possibly wait a little while and go for the ryzen 6000 gpus?

if your only gonna get stuff that's in stock, you'll be limiting yourself and not getting best future proofing/ value for money.

thanks, will see if i can afford to pay the extra for 5600x.
i am kind of out of patience already and don't want to wait for ryzen 6000s to be honest.

the build looks good and i don't see any conflicts.

monitor non curved version of the one i reccomened.

Cpu cooler

Thanks! Regular CPU cooler or the duo version?

Duo has always been overpriced for just another fan on £21 cooler and Alpenfohn Brocken 3 for £30 makes it nuts overpriced.

I agree but astetics in build is important as well to some, having an ugly cooler in a stylish build is like having a wart on the end of your nose.

You just can't stop looking at it.

I have no clue about coolers but I assume Alpenfohn Brocken 3 and Artcic Freezer Duo are similar performance wise ?

Yes the brochen 3 is quieter but is 165mm tall and the case is limited to 164mm tall coolers . It mite fit if you lower the fan a little

Eh having second thoughts now about the cooling. Would you suggest any alternative PC case of similar price without RGB etc that'd be better performance wise? I absolutely don't mind sacrificing aesthetics for the air flow say.

I like this one actually!

They aren't same level coolers at all.
Brocken 3 is lot heavier.
Heatsink of Freezer 34 is like ~465 grams and really doesn't have surface area to need second fan, which is mostly useless weight.
While Brocken 3 is 850 grams meaning even with fan deduced it's 200 grams heavier.

Brocken 3 itself is 161mm.

So assuming mounting screw's head isn't limit in that 165mm fan height would easily become lower
And in this at 25 seconds fan's top seems to be flush with heatsink:

So I reckon with Lancool II MESH case the Brocken 3 is a better option? Assuming the "CPU Clearance: 176mm" is the number that matters (I am a complete noob, sorry!).

Can I lastly ask if there is any specific reason why you chose Zotac and not

or

The question came up after watching this guy here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eNfhn_wC8w suggesting that Zotac 3070 is worse than the founders edition.
