My first year done! Having done nothing but Seti so far, I was wondering other BOINC projects. Which have interesting graphics?

I have only just got to 171,222 and I have been crunching since 21st May 1999, back in the good old days when my PII @ 133Mhz took 24 hours to crunch 1 work unit.

Wow, congrats on the big milestone.

From the projects I've crunched here are some brief descriptions of them screensaver graphics.

Einstein - Rotating celestial sphere with coloured spots showing locations of stars, known pulsars and black holes and also the sites of the three interferometers.

Rosetta - Recently updated. 3D picture of the molecule currently being folded with plots of the energy and RMSD (how close to actual structure if known) of accepted structures. New RNA molecules look . Images here.

LHC - Hypnotic group of glowing spheres which change colour. Lovely, but project rarely has work.

CPDN - Graphical representation of the Earth showing how your model evolves. Can be zoomed and rotated and shows things like temperature gradient, precipitation and cloud cover. I haven't crunched this for years so may have changed a bit.

Leiden - Shows molecules slowly moving around a box for classic. Some of the other apps show molecules bouncing off an array of surface charges, which is a bit more interesting but still dull.

SIMAP - No screensaver graphics ..... yet.

If you want to see a screenie of one of the projects just say so and I'll cap one for you. :)

Thanks for the info! I've opted for Einstein and Rosetta as two additional projects to work on (joining Overclockers on both projects as well, of course!)

Two very well run projects that have few problems and lots of work. :)

Don't forget to parp me as you fly past. My output will be somewhat down on yours :(
