thats right guys i have £155 to spend on sound !

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - OEM
£54 OCUK
-------------------
That leaves me with £101 take off £8 for OCUK`s rediculess delivery costs and the rest is for a set of earphones/headphones.

£93 :)

What Headset or Earphones would complement this sound card for clear cristal sound at high levels * dont you just hate headphones/headsets that arent load or when they are they crackle or breakup under heavey base.
-----

What do you guys recommend please

or should i just get the XFI Fatal1ty version with breakout box
so i can plug my SONY cinema sound 5.1 system into it via Spdif coaxl or fiber, i cant decide what to do hehe

My pc is mostly used for gameing aswell as movies and music. so im all allround type of guru hehe :)

Headphones don't have digital inputs, they're analogue only, with perhaps the exception of a few Dolby sets but they cost a small fortune (like several hundred quid).

If you want good sound quality you should be looking at stereo headphones by someone like Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Grado etc. Koss Porta Pro are very hard to beat for £24 btw, well worth looking at.

You do still get some positional audio even with stereo headphones, since the X-Fi can do pseudo surround sound tricks for stereo headphones. Wouldn't be as convincing (positionally) as 5.1 speakers of course.

There's also some surround sound headsets which have multiple speakers in each cup, but having owned two of the better ones I'd have to say they're pretty poor - bad sound quality and unconvincing surround sound.

Get some Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's. They sound amazingly sweet and I've had to listen to a lot of my music again, especially trance, to hear some parts of it that I couldn't really appreciate before

edit - I think I also got them for £96 inc delivary though you'll have to google them as I ended up buying from a competitor to OCUK.
