15K to spend but no clue!

Mustang engine or not, £15k for a car that nobody wants to buy is £14,999 too much.

You need to ask yourself - Why is a £28k car selling for just £15k?

Exactly, a car only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it, as with anything in life.

£15k for a car nobody wants to buy? They're actually rather sought after as it happens

It's cheap because the company went bust

A £28k selling for £15k after a few years is nothing new either. Take the VW Phantom - a good car by all accounts but it'll loose a fortune in a few years.

50% after 3 years/36,000 miles is considered good for residual value - most of your basic Astras et al only manage 30-35%. Huge execs like the 7-series BMW will loose a fortune too

£18k on the trader through a dealer...

Just to add my 2p:

BMW 330 (i/CI/D)
BMW 530i/d (To keep fox happy) :p
Audi S3 / S4 / RS6 (is that available within budget - I can't look at work)
Golf R32 (MK4)
Octavia vRS (mark I or II)
Seat Leon Cupra R (old shape not the god awful new one)
Mondeo ST220
RX8
350Z
Focus RS
Focus (new shape) ST

:)

My personal preference would be R32 (preferably in the blue) followed by a 330D touring.

Pretty much, can't believe anyone would spend £18k on one.

aye, there are subtle differences. Better leather and interior, bigger wheels, lowered suspension, differences to the chassis which i wouldnt know so much about.

Thing is tho, the 190s were £22k ish new, so £18 for an 06 variant GT isnt actually all that bad. Especially when one considers 06 is the last model year and they're discontinued with no direct replacement, i doubt the price drop will be colossal tbh...

I have the 190 (chose it over 330 sport, Impreza, CTR and Cupra R), and appreciate the extras in the GT - just couldn't justify the extra money. You can grab them now tho for nearer 15-16, which is pretty decent for an 05...

EDIT: One of the main reasons i suggest the Celi's is that they are pretty cheap to run, and a little different to the CTR shopping trolleys you see around. Not everyones cup of tea tho, and that suits me as it keeps them a "teensy" bit exclusive.
