16:10 widescreen

Hi

Why does widescreen 16:10 monitors run at 1600x1050, shouldn't it be 1600x1000 for true 16:10 or it is 16:10.5

Any idea why?

1600x1000 is a valid 16:10 resolution yes. But so is 1680x1050.

1680/16*10=1050

Why and how they landed on that resolution I don't know.
