Not sure if it's a repost or if these really are different drivers than were up there before but the date on them is 02/08/2007

Probably a false alarm, date on the nvidia page says 02/08/2007 but the date on the actual driver once installed says 07/09/2007

I think the original 163.11 betas only supported the 8 series?

Yeah these are the exact same WIC drivers, just they not only 8 series, 6-7 series supported now.
