Hi Folks,

I have £300 saved for a new monitor, and the one I choose will be down to the resolution I go for... I basically want either a 22" or a 24". I am going for either an LG, Samsung or Hazro.

I use my PC exclusively for gaming and at the moment I am running using dual 3870X2's which I know will be able to cope with most modern games at 1680x1050 (excluding Crysis!) on maximum settings, but I think they will struggle with some games on maximum settings at 1920x1200.

Am I going to see a difference between the resolutions? Which resolution do people think I should go for?

Thanks in advance!

1920x1200 is 30% larger - yes, your going to see a big difference lol. in windows the desktop is sharper @ 1920x1200 on a 24" than 1680x1050 on a 22" because of the smaller dot pitch on the 24". you obviously have more desktop space too. for gaming again, everythign is sharper. it does need more power to play at 1920x1200, obviously, but for anything that really cant manage it you can still play at 1680x1050.

Yes, I have Quad GPU's:

I have upgraded my memory to 4Gb 1066MHz since then.

I ran for a short while on my 37" 1080P TV @ 1920x1080 and to be honest, I wasn't blown away by the performance. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wasn't great and Tabula Rasa had some slow down and Company of Heroes was slow, which is why I have been a bit hesitant at not ordering a 1980x1200 straight away.
