16Gb 3600C18 to 32Gb 3600C16 worth it?

So when I built my new system in February I kinda cheaped out on the ram a bit. I went for this kit
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...zen-tuned-ddr4-memory-dual-kit-my-4bw-cs.html

I'm wondering if tighter timings would help and also moving up to 32Gb at the same time.

I don't really do any intensive work loads on my system, COD:MW is the most it gets pushed right now.

I'm running 3700X in Asus B450-I so I only have 2 ram slots. I will consider moving to 3800XT or 3900XT when they come, or 4000 series down the line.

Would the 8pack kit future prove me more, it's currently on offer too. Assuming it will fit under my D15, I'm going to measure soon.

Edit - Just had a measure and physically it will fit, turns out the ram is actually behind the fan of the D15, so I have clearance all the way up to the heatsink which according to the spec gives 64mm clearance, I didn't realise that the fan is already lower than my current ram and rests on the 24pin cable.

The 8pack kits will overclock well so if there's an infinity fabric increase on zen3 or the xt line up and you want to run the ram at a higher frequency then you should be covered.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking. Very tempted to order them now I know they will clear my cooler.

The top of the heatsink does come off if your struggling for clearance.

Thanks, I saw that in the description but I think it's still a little bit higher than the Corsair. It will be fine though as there's loads of clearance.

I've just placed the order. Next I'll need to learn how to tune it.

Wow OcUK are fast, I don't know how they got it to me on a Saturday but I'm very happy.

Just set XMP and haven't touched anything else.

Yea I’ve just been playing with that, I posted in the 8Pack ram thread.

Have you noticed any difference whether in bench marks or real world since tightening the tRC?

I'm going to be playing with my ram timings and benching etc in the next few days so interested to know what kind of results/gains I'm likely to get

The benchmarks have improved for sure, though I haven't ran that many, not sure I gained much in COD. Maybe everything feels snappier but that could just be confirmation bias.

I'm happy though, I'm running at a higher memory speed than before with way better timings and double the memory, should hopefully see me through the next few upgrades too.

What have you been using to benchmark? MemBench in the Dram Calc or other bench tests?

I'll post all my results once I've done my testing... It might interest someone seeing a relatively nooby person overclocking RAM and showing the gains.

Also, Warzone is my main game at the moment too, seems to be working fine at just XMP - no complaints at all - 1440p low settings (for dat framerate) and typically hit 130-140fps (- I've capped it at 140). Shame I'm terrible and typically end up with 2000+ damage and 4-6 kills...

Yes MemBench, also AIDA64, Cinebench and the CPU-Z bench.

I'm also at 1440p mostly low settings and also getting around 130-141 fps, I set my limit to 141 so no idea if it peaks above that. I noticed in MP it's solid at 141.
