Hi,
I'm upgrading my platform from a 3770k to a 3700x. I'm getting the corsair rgb Pro memory due to its cheaper price. I can't work out if its better to go for the 16gb of higher clocked memory for the speed or go for the 32gb of slower for more futureproofing. Both dual module. If I went for the 16gb of 3600mhz, would I be able to upgrade with another 2 sticks of the same ram and still get the same overclock?
Its the ryzen tuned memory. Not sure what difference it is.

Thanks

Ah indeed. But vr gaming is very niche.
Though depending on budget and how long op wants to keep the rig for...should be looking for 32gb ram
Quite a while and that's why I'm going for the 3700x instead of the 9700k. So you reckon 32gb 3200mhz instead of 16gb 3600mhz?

@chriso132 personally i got the 3700x with 32gb ram when i upgraded my rig 3-4 months ago.
but the ram i got was micron e-die based (ie crucial ballistix LT ram).
this is 3200c16 ram that is insanely overclockable and capable of running 3800c16 in my rig (of course ymmv)
currently running 3666c16 at lower voltages in the interests of lower heat and hopefully system longevity

dunno. unsure if 4 sticks of single rank would place more or less stress on the IMC than 2 sticks of dual rank ram
but i'd probably opt for the latter as it gives you an upgrade path later down the line for 4x16 should you ever need it ;)
