This is slowly but surely driving me insane.

I was under the impression that ziphone would do all the work, so I plugged my 1.1.3 Touch in, updated using iTunes then used ziphone to jailbreak it, only to get a recurring message on the Touch screen saying "bsd root: md0, major 2".
This seems to be a common problem, but i've fllowed every walkthrough I can and it still won't work. It's supposed to take under 5 minutes but I've spent 3 up/downgrading and jailbreaking for the same message to keep on popping up. Has someone else had this problem? Can ANYONE help me out?

Had 1.1.3, iTunes> 1.1.4
ziphone to Jailbreak, got stuck.

Restore mode, tried again. Same

Restore mode > downgraded using already downloaded 1.1.3 fw package. Tried again, got stuck.

All the how tos save one just show me how to get it back to 1.1.3, but can I upgrade at all?

Looked around, found http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=442639 and tried

Exclamation working 1.1.4 16gb ipod touch
If you're getting a BSD error when trying to jailbreak your iPod Touch, complete the following to get your iPod working and jailbroken with 1.1.4 firmware. This was done on a mac and you'll need the 1.1.3 firmware update

1. connect sync cable to 'broken' iPod
2. open iTunes
3. hold down sleep/wake and home buttons until screen is blank
4. release sleep/wake button ONLY when screen is blank
5. release home button when iPod appears in iTunes
6. press option key + Restore button and select the 1.1.3 firmware file
7. wait for restore to complete
8. go through iPod setup wizard, uncheck automatically sync and click sync to synchronize nothing
9. click on check for update and update the iPod to 1.1.4
10. wait for update to complete
11. click sync to sync nothing
12. Eject iPod and close iTunes
13. Disconnect sync cable from iPod
14. hold down sleep/wake and slide to power off
15. hold down home button and connect sync cable
16. release home button when iTunes logo appears on iPod display
17. open ZiPhone
18. select Jailbreak
19. click Start
20. wait for jailbreak to complete

No chance. Help me out, I'm kinda frustrated :) Anyone have any advice?
Many thanks!

Are you using the latest version of Ziphone?

AFAIK this problem existed before Zibri had access to an iPod Touch. Once he did he updated the programme to fix this error.

Downloaded it yesterday, the website is a blog as well, so no support. Sucks

I've decided to stay on 1.1.3 instead of 1.1.4 but I STILL get the same problem. I could go bonkers....

I have a 32GB Itouch, bought at 1.1.3 and tried to jailbreak only to get similar error as op

Found another walk-through, which advised to upgrade to 1.1.4, so did this and tried a few methods only to fail dismally with a similar error again

gave up lol

I only want to get the eu volume limit removed as well :(

Had the same problem and then I used iJailbreak (Mac Only) and it worked a charm. My friend used Ziphone 3.0 to jailbreak 1.1.4 and it worked fine. Only difference being he used the windows version. So my guess is the mac version is somehow broken when jailbreaking 16gb + Touch's. I could have used my Pc to do it but I was adamant to jailbreak 1.1.4 on my macbook lol.

So yes the moral of the story is use iJailbreak.

Yeah... Ten minutes after I got it working I restarted it and it froze on the rotating thingy which comes up when the Apple logo appears. I could have cried, I gave in and it's on 1.1.3 unhacked :(

I WILL NOT GIVE IN, though, I will triumph.

Might it be bacause I jumped from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 when I updated for the first time? Should I try downgrading to 1.1.1 and do the whole jailbreak/update/jailbreak/update process? I'm lost for ideas, though i haven't used ziphone 2.5 on the 1.1.4 fw yet...

That was an anticlimax, decided to try your iJailbreak thing and it's worked with no problems so far. Mind it's only been half an hour, but if I don't post back then it's done its job :p Thanks for the suggestion!
