16GB single stick of ram?

mates got the same mobo as me asrock z77e-itx so has two ram slots, he wants to stick in 32gb of ram :eek:

(dont ask me!) anyone rcoment any 16gb sticks? i cant find any and this board says it supports 32gb max (2x 16gb)

i did find some but they are very expensive..... £167

I'm pretty sure those will be ECC Registered (i.e. server memory), so they won't work in a normal desktop.

And to help the OP and avoid going off topic any more, Crucial make a single 16Gb DDR3 stick but it is ECC (as suggested by Saundie) and it costs a bomb. Probably the same one you found.

But yeah, there are 16gb sticks as said, but definitely not worth it. As said, 2x8gb will do. But what exactly does he want 32gb for anyway?
