16meg Sky broadband?

You have to have Sky? :p

Nah, not many details floating around at the moment regarding T&C and FUP as far as im aware. :o

it also hasn't gone live yet due to Sky having tech probs, they hope it's going live next month, i'm plannin on moving onto sky Max from AOL. there is a fair usage allowance on that package.

Bear in mind Sky LLU = Easynet SMPF LLU = UKOnline LLU.

that can't be true because im on ukonline llu and sky bb sent me a letter saying sky isn't avalible at my exchange. because i wanted there 2 meg free sevice

Ive been contemplating this. But that Fair Use Policy needs to appear before i sign up to anything :)

I've heard about this but didn't believe it until I checked for myself.

16Mb broadband for 10 quid a month, what's the catch?

The only real catches with the Sky Broadband packages are:

1. You need to be a Sky customer
2. Your exchange needs to be one that Sky has access to via an LLU (currently only 20% of the UK, growing to 70% over the next 18 months)

they went live last friday I have been told, by 3 individual people at sky broadband customer services....

They just apparently have a large backlog, of people to contact...

Same answer applies I'd suggest. Did you point out that you had UKOnline LLU?

Might be worth posting on ADSLguide, not that anyone from Sky/Easynet/UKOnline posts on there AFAIK.

I got a call from sky and basically if I sawp to them from Telewest I'll pay less than telewest for the first year and I'll be gettin gloads of channels I don't have then when that year's up I'll still be getting loads of extra channels that I wasn't getting with Telewest plus the 16mb line and an even better unlimited phone service.

The only thing I was concerned with was the net as it's adsl and I've only ever had broadband and I'll have to change my router. The service is unlimited which was good to hear but I have no idea if it's going to perform better than or as consistant as Blueyonder?

If anyone has a clue to weather it'll be up to scratch that'll be great.

Er, ADSL isn't "broadband"?
You mean you've only ever had a cable service, at a guess.

How long's a bit of string?

Do you think NTL would cut their prices now?
£25 for 4mb feels overpriced now... Maybe its time for a cancellation phone call to get a decent deal.

35 for 10mbit from Telewest seems a bit heavy now too! Essentially i paid 35 quid for a few yrs now and originally it was 512k i think.

NTL and Telewest may be on the more expensive side but at least they're actually unlimited with no shaping (yet) or stupid FUPs that certain ADSL ISPs have. That's worth paying for in my opinion.

Fair point!

Mundu, what service do you have?
