I’ve just ordered a 4080s super cheap:D
The 16pin cable wath my atx3.0 psu is an ugly little thing… am I ok to use an extension.

My psu is a msi mag 850w atx3.1 pcie5 psu

No reason why not just make sure they are well connected. The melting issues with 12vhpwr cables is usually at the GPU port where it gets hot anyway so at least you will only damage an extension if that happens, although its more of a 4090 issue I think.
