I have the chance to buy a brand new, boxed Dell 17" CRT for £35 from the IT department in work. They have a couple going and i was wondering should i buy one? Is that a good price? Anyone got one?
 
Well, bought it. Had it for 320 in the end!!! Awesome CRT. Lovely picture, really crisp and colourful. Glad i bought it now!
 
Is that a trintron model? A competitor was selling refurbed 17" and 19" trintrons for £40 a few months back. I got one and think they're fantastic especially for playing games and at that money were a steal.
 
I've got a 18" Dell flat CRT (rebranded Sony Trinitron) and it's lovely. The color is great and it's about as sharp a picture as I think you'll get from a CRT. 35 quid is a pretty good price too.
 
No, it cost me £20 in the end!!! Brand new, boxed and sealed!! The department in work bought a few and never got round to using them. I am well pleased with mine. Lovely picture. :D
 
I had a Dell P992 trinitron. Ive recently got a widescreen acer tft though because it was knackers, possibly do do with me moving large speakers around it (or just having them near it) it went fuzzy in different patches. Great monitor though, lasted me a good 5 years at least
 
A competitor is selling 15" and 17" for next to nothing.

Even though newly refurbished, the Hz of the screens seems poor. The 17" can only do 60Hz max at 1280x1024.
 
^ yeh, my dell could do 2048x1536. 1600x1200 at 75hz 1280x1024 at 100 ad 1024x768 at 120. i had it in 1024x768@120hz all the time
 
Anyone got a Dell service phone number for warranty on Dell Monitors? My mate's 20" is acting up and he doesn't have a number to ring. The TFT is just over a year old. Ta
