17 inch laptop £500ish

Current laptop is on its last legs so am looking to replace it with another 17" laptop.

Will be used for office, e-mail, internet, lightroom

Current laptop is a Tosh P300-156 with T5550, 3GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 3470 if that helps!

I'd check anything from big reliable brands, like Samsung, Toshiba, Sony.

Had seen that one, is there anywhere I can easily see how the processor compares to the exisitng one?

The T4300 is actually a more recent technology and more powerful. It'[s 45nm, and for a quick comparison scores 4148 on cinebench against 3397 for the T5500.
