17" Monitors why so expensive?

Just scratched my LG 17"

and pretty sure it was about £70, yet looking on various sites cheapest 17" are easily over £100 :confused:

What's happening about prices?

they arnt the norm any more so they dont get reduced, same as graphics acrds i suppose!

Yeah nobody buys 17" these days, so production of them is a lot lower, so prices for 'em go up.
22" Widescreen is beginning to be the new mainstream size.

Big enough for windows use, and rather have that than a 19" 1280x1020 (identical resolution)

I have just taken the plunge to 22", upgrading my generic 17" TFT that has served me very well. Had it about 3-4 years and not had a single dead pixel.

The 22" is £150 delivered including an HDMI cable, hopefully it will be arriving today at some point.

Havent looked recently but thought that 17" TFTs were still around the 80 quid mark, interesting to see the prices getting hiked so much.
