I've been looking to build a new PC for gaming to replace what I have currently. The games I will be playing are rather varied, but includes Battlefield 4, World of Warcraft and League of Legends, as well as possibly recording and/or streaming them. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to computer hardware and was wondering what this set up should be able to manage, if it's good and if any part is too good/bad relative to the other parts.

Case - NZXT Phantom 530 Full Tower Gaming Case
Processor - Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Motherboard - Asus Maximus VII Hero Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Cooling system - Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
RAM - Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Gold (HX21C11BGK2/16-OC)
Graphics card - GALAX GeForce GTX 980
Main Harddrive - Samsung 500GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE500BW)
Second harddrive ( storage ) - Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD
Optical drive - OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Power supply - Corsair RM Series RM 1000 '80+ Gold' 1000W Power Supply (CP-9020062-UK)

Better cooler, arguably better motherboard (much better support from Gigabyte), SLI 970s and a better case also. Cheaper SSD and bigger HDD :)

However, what monitor will you be running? These SLI 970s may well be overkill if you aren't running something like 1440p (though even a single 970 holds its own at 1440p)

Thanks for the responses, very helpful. My current monitor is a Asus VG VG23AH ( 1080p ) but I'm most likely also buying a new monitor in the near future,

A single GTX980 like I specced will easily eat games at that res;) and I left you the option to add a 2nd card later on.

Oh, and for the keyboard and mouse question I have a Corsair K90 Vengeance and a Feenix Nascita and Steelseries Ikari, which all work well.

Apart from the two gfx cards, no advantage.

Oh, the EVGA PSU has a 10year warranty vs 5 for the Superflower, but then you don't get free delivery if you live in the UK.

The daily/weekly deals changed today so here is a slight adjustment to my spec,

Though 970 SLI is more power(and more money) it is also more Heat and more noise. You should be able to get a pretty decent OC on the 980 too (which with 970 SLI) may be a struggle..

If you can't tell, im voting for stulids 980 spec. :)
