I have approx £1700 to spend on a laptop, I will probably use it for gaming and it will almost certainly be used as a desktop replacement. I was looking at the mid range spec Dell XPS Gaming 1730 solution, with 3 years warranty and 2 years accident cover.

Thoughts on this?

17.0" UltraSharp™ WUXGA (1920x1200) TFT with TrueLife™
Dual 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8700M GT graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology
Ageia PhysX Processing Unit Card
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
200GB (7200RPM) SATA Hard Drive (with room to add a second HDD)
Vista Home Prem

I've never had a problem with Dells, this is replacing my current Dell system which managed to survive over 5 years of abuse!

Hi,

you can get the top spec XPs M1730 on offer at the moment for £1500 ish after offers and quidco.... thats with 2x160 RAID0, t9300, 2 GB and 8800M SLI.... Unbelievably good offer as your saving about 25%. I was going to get the X80r for a similar price until i saw this offer. I am going to be ordering one myself in the next few days :)

Cheers,
Hugest

But that goes slighlty over with accident cover etc?

Actually, what's quidco? :)
