Evening lads, basically I got tempted by the 1700x @ £150 brand new, and potentially will pair the B450 strix ITX. Will Precision Boost Overdrive + offset voltage work? I heard manual overclock doesn't work as efficient as PBO + performance enhancer or anything like that. If I'm not mistaken, the best way to achieve good multi and single core performance on AMD is enabling PBO + performance enhancer and tweaking the voltage via offset mode, is that true?
Never have any AMD so I'm clueless. Thanks for any input guys!

Cheers Panos, the two boards share the same vrm design and the heatsinks look to be nearly identical in size. That's why I tend to prefer the cheaper option.
My ram is no problem.
About PBO, is it a motherboard feature? or is it dependent on the CPU?

I have been look at mini-ITX motherboards the MSI B450i Gaming PLUS AC probably has the best VRM on a B450 mini-ITY boards for a Ryzen CPU AFAIK:

So if you were doing a straight overclock it would probably be the best motherboard, although for PBO apparently the B450 Strix has the edge. OTH,the MSI board is cheaper.
thanks CAT, the MSI definitely is within my consideration given its attractive price!

Thanks for the help guys, I just ordered the 1700X, leaning toward the Asus ITX instead of MSI since I’m a bit more familiar with Asus bios. Now only need to find some Hynix C-die as they seem pretty good and new.
