Heh I thought they only used 'easy right' and 'easy left' in pacenotes on rally arcade games :p

Nah - this was before rally drivers turned into a bunch of limp-wristed, whinging pooftahs.

There are only six kinds of corner:

Left and right.

Flat, easy and hard.

Heh, Vatanen really is a legend....:)

Re: pace notes - in Stirling Moss' biography it talks about the system they used for the '55 Mille Miglia. Denis Jenkinson had to use hand signals to describe to Moss what corners were coming up. They'd tried using an intercom setup, but found that Moss couldn't hear the pace notes. When they got back to England they found out why - Moss was concentrating so hard on driving that he couldn't hear anything, but his brilliant peripheral vision allowed him to see Jenks' hand signals just fine while keeping his attention on the road ahead.

Jenks' response to that? "Well, that just goes to show. If those rally drivers really were on 10/10ths they wouldn't be able to hear the pace notes." :D

Not your eyes, just your number processing centre of the brain. ;)

Corners; left and right (2) x the 3 variables. = 6 different types of corner. :)
